Fall 2024 Fiat Lux - a Celebration of Florida Southern College Student Scholarship and Research - happened on Nov. 20 2024 in Becker Building. There were 12 student groups presented. Among the groups, Catherine Sarte presented her Honor Project "Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Psoriasis Severity Diagnosis and Management". And Aiden, Joseph, Brendan, and Mindy presented their Senior Project "Digital Pathology: The Study of AI on the Cellular Level". Both are advised by Dr. Hoan Ngo. Congratulations Catherine, Aiden, Joseph, Brendan, and Mindy! Well done!
Our team received R33 award from NIH

Our multi-national team from USA, Tanzania, and Vietnam recently received an R33 award from NIH to develop and evaluate a low-cost system powered by AI for thyroid cancer diagnostic in LMICs. The project will be from August, 2024 - July, 2027: Adapting a machine learning algorithm to predict thyroid cytopathology in LMIC. Sponsor: National Institutes of Health (National Cancer Institute).
